Customer: Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP), Greifswald
The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) develops a fusion reactor based on the stellarator concept, the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) in Greifswald. A key component of W7-X is the water-cooled island divertor that receives heat loads up to 10 MW/m².
For safe operation of the machine, a permanent monitoring shall be performed with the divertor thermography instrument.
KTO has designed and manufactured the IR objective of the endoscope.
